Therapy for AuDHD Couples and Neurodiverse Relationships
Specialized support for couples and individuals navigating the layered experiences of both autism and ADHD, at home, in relationships, at work, and beyond.
Understand Each Other. Grow Together.
When autism and ADHD intersect in a relationship, communication can misfire, emotions can escalate, and connection can feel just out of reach. We specialize in therapy for AuDHD couples and individuals who want clarity, connection, and real-life tools to thrive, in relationships, at work, and in daily life. Together, we’ll help you better understand each other and build a relationship that works for your unique brains.
What Is AuDHD?
Autism Spectrum Condition and ADHD - “AuDHD” is a term used to describe people who experience both autism and ADHD. This dual neurotype creates a unique set of challenges, and strengths, in how people connect, regulate emotions, manage daily life, and relate to others.
At our practice, we specialize in working with AuDHD individuals and couples navigating love, parenting, friendship, and work while feeling misunderstood by traditional therapy approaches.
Experience both sensory sensitivities and a craving for stimulation
Struggle with emotional regulation, often swinging between shutdowns & outbursts
Feel misunderstood, even in close relationships, despite strong intentions to connect
Navigate conflicting needs for routine, spontaneity, alone time, or closeness
Mask or overcompensate in social settings, leading to burnout & miscommunication
Excel in creative, analytical, or passionate pursuits, yet struggle with follow-through
Face parenting challenges while also reparenting their own nervous systems
Want to feel seen, accepted, and supported without being pathologized

Whether one or both partners are AuDHD, we offer a safe, affirming space to explore communication breakdowns, emotional intensity, and conflicting needs, while building tools for connection, regulation, and real-world partnership.

How AuDHD Therapy Is Different
This isn’t one-size-fits-all therapy. We integrate neurodiversity-affirming practices with trauma-informed care, attachment theory, and practical communication tools tailored for AuDHD relationships. We help you identify patterns, decode triggers, and develop realistic tools you can actually use, without pathologizing who you are.
We focus on progress, not perfection, because healing in a neurodiverse relationship means learning to navigate differences, not erase them. Together, we’ll build a framework that respects both partners' needs, boundaries, and sensory realities.
Learn to self-regulate and co-regulate during conflict
Reduce sensory and emotional overload between you
Build shared language for your neurodivergent experiences
Understand each other's needs for autonomy, structure, or novelty
Develop boundaries and connection at the same time
Work through missed cues and emotional misattunements without blame
Create rituals that nurture closeness without overwhelming the nervous system
Understand each other's needs for autonomy, structure, or novelty
Our AuDHD therapy is tailored to fit your unique wiring, needs, and goals.
Therapy designed for complexity, built for brilliance.
Hi, I'm Leila Pirnia.
I Specialize in AuDHD Relationships.
As a neurodiversity-affirming therapist, I’ve spent years working with individuals and couples who are wired differently, many of whom have been misdiagnosed, misunderstood, or overwhelmed by traditional therapy models.
My approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and grounded in real life. I help couples decode their patterns, name their needs, and grow toward the kind of connection they’ve always wanted, but didn’t know how to build.
Whether you’ve been diagnosed or just suspect you’re neurodivergent, you're welcome here.

Understanding AuDHD Relationships
In AuDHD relationships, the argument is rarely just about the dishes, the forgotten text, or the change in plans. Different nervous systems can create very different experiences of the same moment. Underneath the conflict are often deeper questions about safety, rejection, autonomy, fairness, and whether you matter to each other. The goal isn't to decide whose version is right. It's to understand each other well enough to build a relationship that works for both of you.
